Manufacturers such as Samsung, Huawei, Oppo and Xiaomi often highlight the amount of RAM in Android smartphone announcements. By contrast, Apple never uses RAM in iPhones as a marketing tool. The company continued this tradition in the new iPhone 14 series.

Since the Cupertino firm does not officially disclose such data, we always learn the amount of RAM through different channels. The MacRumors website discovered files in the Xcode 14 beta revealing that all four models of the iPhone 14 series are equipped with 6GB of RAM.
RAM increased by half on standard models
The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, which were released last year, came with 6 GB of RAM, while the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini contained 4 GB of RAM. The amount of RAM in the standard models offered by the company to consumers this year has been increased by half. Here is the chart from last year and this year:
Previous models:
- iPhone 13 mini: 4GB
- iPhone 13: 4GB
- iPhone 13 Pro: 6GB
- iPhone 13 Pro Max: 6GB
iPhone 14 RAM quantities:
- iPhone 14: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Plus: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Pro: 6GB
- iPhone 14 Pro Max: 6GB
In March, famous analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the standard iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Plus will contain LPDDR4X RAM, while the iPhone 14 Pro models will contain LPDDR5 RAM. But Xcode files only decoded the amount of RAM. We will have to wait for the devices to be disassembled and examined to find out the type of RAM in smartphones.
