The last commercial Amiga computer available for sale was the PowerPC-based AmigaOne X5000, released in 2017. The Amiga platform itself is 37 years old.

On the forums of Amiga OS developer Hyperion Entertainment, Christian, also known as xeno74, announced the availability of the 6.0 kernel for the AmigaOne X5000 and X1000 machines. In the announcement, xeno74, which includes the images of 3D games such as Cro-Mag Rally and Otto Mattic, as well as system profile images to verify the current kernel, announced that the work on the alpha versions of the 6.1 kernel has already started.

In addition, it should be noted that the “Biggest Amiga Event” took place again last weekend for the first time since the pandemic. Participants of the Amiga37 conference held in Mönchengladbach, Germany, also had the chance to watch various performances at the event, where various speakers attended and awards were given.

Of course, it seems unlikely that the Amiga will ever reach the mainstream audience again, but it is certain that the fanbase will continue to be encouraging and perhaps a lesson for modern niche systems.
