One of the services offered with Amazon Prime is the right to access the Amazon Video platform, where different content is available. Wanting to make a difference with its own special productions like every platform, Amazon signed the series called The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power, which is the most expensive series ever made for this purpose.

The world premiere of the series, which is expected to determine the future of the platform, was held in Leicester Square in England. One of the names participating in this event was Jeff Bezos, the boss of Amazon. Bezos also made a statement here.

Interesting thanks to the producers from Bezos

Speaking about Rings of Power, which is expected to compete with HBO Max’s House of Dragon series, Bezos said to the producers, “Thank you for ignoring me at exactly the right times.”

Known to have been acquainted with the Tolkien books as a child, Bezos joked, “Every TV show producer’s dream is to get notes from the executive director in the first scripts and edits, they love it.” He then said to the showrunners Patrick McKay and JD Payne, “Thank you for listening to me where it helped, but most of all for ignoring me at exactly the right time.”

Although the choices made by the names in the lead of the series have been widely discussed, Bezos stated that it was one of the best decisions they made to give a chance to a relatively little-known duo they trust because they saw something special. The billionaire businessman also said that his son also advised them not to screw this up.

The first 2 episodes of the ten-episode series, which was shot for approximately 465 million dollars, met with the audience at this premiere. In the making, we go back 2000 years before Peter Jackson’s epic trilogy. Let’s see which of the two epic fantasy series will be more successful.
