The Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission recently issued new regulations regarding cryptocurrency advertising.
The serious declines in the crypto money sector cause countries to come up with new applications in this field. The latest example of this is Thailand. One of the articles in the document published by Thailand on crypto advertisements is that the possible risks of investing in this field are clearly visible in crypto advertisements.
Thailand Wants to Protect Small Crypto Investor
Thai authorities aim to provide more protection for the small investor. The new advertising rules came after Zipmex, a local licensed cryptocurrency exchange in Thailand. Zipmex stopped withdrawals last month. The parent company, Zipmex Pte, was subsequently granted quarterly creditor protection by Singapore.
According to a statement from the Thailand Securities and Exchange Commission, crypto ads will now have to meet the following requirements:
- Ads must not contain false, misleading or exaggerated claims
- Risk warnings should be clear and easy to spot
- Ads should contain balanced views that talk about both positive and negative factors.
- Crypto firms should limit ads to official channels such as websites
