Tether Disables Accounts of MoonPay, BlockFi, CMS Holdings and Galois Capital
Stablecoin issuer Tether disabled the accounts of several crypto companies in 2021, according to documents released by the New York Attorney General. These accounts include companies like MoonPay, BlockFi, CMS Holdings and Galois Capital. It is stated that some companies have filed for bankruptcy and Galois Capital has closed.
The list of disabled accounts includes companies and individuals that have been terminated for various reasons. This list is based on documents from the period up to February 2021, when the New York Attorney General’s investigation was completed.
In a statement, Tether did not comment on any individual relationships, but stated that they passed the compliance checks required by Tether’s compliance policies.
The UK Offshore Fund is also on the list of closed accounts. This company was sued by the US Securities and Exchange Commission in 2023 for alleged fraudulent schemes and Ponzi-like payments.
The disabled accounts list includes 29 accounts in total, and the user codes have been rearranged for each account. However, it is stated that the list does not contain any other information.
