Apple, which came up with its new ARM-based processors, namely the M series, 2 years ago, faced positive feedback. After that, the company, which came up with the M1 Max and M1 Pro, finally launched the M2 platform. Now, the first information about “M2 Max”, the advanced version of M2, has arrived!
M2 Max spotted on Geekbench!
With the M series, Apple used an ARM-based processor for the first time in its laptop computers. The platform, which has a very high performance compared to battery usage, was highly appreciated thanks to such advantages.
According to leaked Geekbench tests, the Silicon M2 Max has a 12-core build. In addition to the new processor, the device tested with 96 GB of RAM is estimated to be the Mac Studio.
According to Geekbench 5 results, the new processor scored 1,853 in the single core test. That’s 98 points higher than the M1 Max, which has 1,755 points. In the multi-core test, the new platform scored 522 points more than the M1 Max with 12,333 points. So the M2 Max has 13,855 points in multi-core performance. Although there is a performance increase compared to the previous generation, it can be said that it was a small increase.
M2 Extreme could be 48 cores!
Apple seems to come up with a more powerful processor than the M2 Max this year. According to some leaks, the new processor, which will be named M2 Extreme, will be between 2 and 4 times more performance than the M2 Max, which appears on Geekbench. It is said that the new platform will come with 48 processor cores. It is also expected to have 152 graphics cores.
Considering that Apple introduced the M1 Max and M1 Pro in October 2021, we can see new processors and new Apple computers that will host them in the coming months.
