Electric car giant Tesla has issued a new warning before the end of the year. According to the report prepared by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), 320,000 Tesla cars have a problem that can cause an accident.
The taillight of Tesla models turns on by itself
The latest recall report released by the National Road Transport Safety Administration (NHTSA) affects Tesla’s Model Y and Model 3 vehicles manufactured between 2020 and 2023. According to the shared warning, one or two taillights of these models may light up randomly. This increases the risk of potential collisions.
The taillights self-ignition was caused by a firmware that caused false diagnostics. According to the statement in the report, these false detections only affected the rear lights of the vehicle. So brake, reversing lights or turn signals are fine for now.
It was determined that the last error was caused by firmware version 2022.40.4. For Model Y and Model 3, which are currently using this version, version 2022.40.4.1 has become available for download.
Tesla, which warned car owners 11 times in 2021 and changed 3.4 million models, faced more problems in 2022. Considering that Tesla stock has lost more than 50 percent, this error came at a pretty bad time.
This is also notable for being the third recall report of November. According to the last warning sent to vehicle owners, nearly 40 thousand cars faced the problem of loss of power steering support.
