Tesla, one of the largest electric car manufacturers, is known for its reliable vehicles. However, this event in Canada left a question mark in the minds. According to the information received, a Tesla Model Y was engulfed in flames while on the road.

Tesla Model Y caught fire after electrical failure!

A Tesla user in Canada stated that while driving with his electric vehicle, the car stopped after giving an error warning. Stating that smoke started to come out of his vehicle, the driver said that Tesla started to catch fire after that. Claiming that the doors and windows did not open, the driver emphasized that he was forced out of the vehicle by breaking the windows.

The incident occurred in Vancouver, Canada. It is stated that the inside of the vehicle, which cuts off the power after giving a warning, is covered in smoke. The explanations of the driver of the vehicle, Jamil Jutha, are as follows:

Doors and windows did not open. I kicked the window, went outside and immediately dialed 911.

Jutha states that he has been using the 2021 electric SUV for only 8 months. Emphasizing that the doors of the Tesla Model Y did not open in the fire that broke out after the electrical failure, the man fortunately managed to break the window of the vehicle and get out.

Tesla’s vehicles have an emergency system that will open the doors in such cases. However, Jutha notes that using the emergency system during a high-stress and life-threatening event is not easy.

The shared YouTube video was taken by a passer-by during the event. In the 12-minute video, we see that smoke comes out of the vehicle and then it catches fire. Afterwards, the vehicle is extinguished with the help of firefighters.

Electric vehicles, which gradually gain more and more space in our lives, may encounter some errors as in other automobiles. So what do you think about this fire in Tesla Model Y? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
