Electric car manufacturer Polestar, which continues its work within Volvo, introduced its new electric model at an event it held. Called the Polestar 4 and appearing as a crossover, the car was launched as the fastest car the brand has ever released.
Polestar’s new crossover model has a very simple yet elegant design. The car, in which the segmented headlight structure is adopted, does not look bad at all with its closed grille design, door handles embedded in the body and panoramic glass design.
Introducing Polestar 4
The rear of the Polestar 4, which will be available with a choice of 20 or 22 inch tires, is also quite plain. Equipped with a “slim” light bar that covers the trunk lid from side to side, the car measures 4,839 millimeters in length, 2,139 millimeters in width and 1,544 millimeters in height. The wheelbase of the vehicle was announced as 2,999 millimeters, which is equivalent to the wheelbase of the Audi Q7.
To be frank, the inside of the Polestar 4 is as plain as the outside. However, the equipped technological features take the vehicle to a completely different point. A 10.2-inch digital instrument panel in front of the driver displays data from 12 cameras, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a radar system integrated into the vehicle. This data is also displayed on the 14.7-inch head-up display. The center console has a 15.4-inch infotainment screen. The infotainment screen, which uses the Android Automotive operating system, also offers Apple CarPlay support and can be preferred with the 16-speaker Harmon Kardon sound system.
Let’s take a look at the engine options. The Polestar 4 will be available for purchase in single and twin engine versions. The version paired with the most powerful engine (dual engine) and the largest battery will have 544 horsepower and 686 Nm of torque. The car, which can complete 0-100 km / h acceleration in 3.8 seconds, is faster than all other models of Polestar. The company announced that the large battery and single-engine version will have a range of about 500 kilometers. It should be noted that the single-engine version has 268 horsepower and 343 Nm of torque.
Polestar 4 will be launched for the first time in November and in China. In 2024, it will be available in more countries. The company did not make a clear pricing statement, but announced that the starting price will be at the level of 60 thousand dollars. Considering that the price of Tesla Model Y, with which Polestar 4 will compete, is at the level of 52 thousand 600 dollars in China, it is possible to say that Polestar 4 will cost a little more.
