Tesla is known as the pioneer and innovator of the electric car industry. The founder and CEO of the company, Elon Musk, says that they are always working to produce better, faster and more efficient vehicles. In line with this vision, Tesla constantly updates its existing models and develops new models.
Model 3, Tesla’s best-selling model, has attracted a lot of attention since its launch in 2017. Model 3, with its affordable price, modern design, high range and autonomous driving features, has become the choice of those who want to buy an electric car. However, Tesla has been working on a new project for a while to further improve the Model 3. This project is known as Project Highland.
What will change with Project Highland?
With Project Highland, there will be some major changes to the Model 3’s exterior design. First of all, the headlights will have a different shape and the front bumper will be redesigned accordingly. There will be a single camera at the bottom of the front bumper and this camera will be in a central position, as in the Cybertruck. At the rear, the design of the bumper will also change, but these changes are thought to be for aesthetic purposes only. The side mirrors will also be slightly updated.
There will also be some changes in the interior design of the vehicle. In particular, a fabric coating will be used instead of wood coating. That finish will likely be the Alcantara found on the Model S and Model X. The dashboard will also be updated, but how this will happen is not yet known. New cameras will also be added to Model 3 with Project Highland. These cameras will benefit from the new Hardware 4.0 Autopilot supercomputer.
There will be three new cameras in total in the vehicle: one in the middle of the front bumper and one on each side of the vehicle. Thanks to these cameras, the vehicle will be able to provide better visibility at some intersections and prevent it from moving forward unnecessarily. In short, with Project Highland, both the appearance and technology of the Model 3 will undergo a significant change and become much more modern.
