Electric car giant Tesla continues to take a step forward with the technologies it has developed in its vehicles. The company recently released the beta of its fully autonomous driving system, and the initial reactions to the system were quite positive. Many drivers responded that the fully autonomous system works quite smoothly and safely.
Considering that we come across with accident news from time to time, the company, which is very sensitive about this image, is trying to improve its systems on the one hand and taking new steps in safe driving on the other hand. The last of these steps is the ‘Security Score’ system, which is again in beta.
Drivers will receive ‘Safety Points’ based on their driving performance:
In Tesla’s new system, drivers will be evaluated on five main items and a score between 0 and 100 will be generated. Points will be generated based on ‘foreign collision warning per 1000 miles’, ‘hard braking’, ‘aggressive turning’, ‘unsafe following distance’ and ‘forced autopilot disengagement’. Each of the items will be evaluated through sensors on Tesla.
As long as there is an internet connection in each ride, the points will be updated separately for each vehicle for the same driver with more than one Tesla vehicle. If the Tesla owner sells his vehicle, the score will be reset and the new driver will start over. Also, drivers will not be able to transfer their points when they buy a new Tesla. So everything will start over in a zero Tesla.
