Nowadays, besides smart phones, the number of devices that will charge with wearable technology products has increased considerably. When it comes to smartphones, smart watches, wireless headphones, tablets and power banks, there are many different devices to be charged. This brings along the charger confusion.
Tesla unveils new charging platform that supports up to three devices
In the meantime, Tesla intends to eliminate this confusion with its new product introduced. Tesla introduced its new charging platform that can charge the batteries of three devices at the same time. The sales figures of this system, which has a price tag of $ 300, are a matter of curiosity.
The new platform, which can charge 3 devices at the same time with 15 W of power, refers to Tesla’s electric pick-up model Cybertruck with its black color and angular design. The charging platform, which has an aluminum case and alcantara surface, can be used straight or at an angle.
The US automaker gives the following statements about its new product offered for sale:
Inspired by the angular design and metallic style of the Cybertruck, our Wireless Charging Platform provides 15W of fast charging power for up to three devices simultaneously. Its sleek design consists of an aluminum housing, premium alcantara surface, and a removable magnetic stand that lets you place the charger flat or at an angle for better visibility. It features FreePower(R) technology that charges your Qi-enabled devices such as phones or headphones placed anywhere on its surface without precise alignment.
Tesla’s new charging platform brought to mind the AirPower system that Apple introduced in 2017. AirPower, a multi-device charging platform designed to simultaneously charge iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods, was unfortunately never implemented.
Tesla’s charging platform uses Aira’s FreePower technology, which is used in other wireless charging platforms, just like Nomad’s Base Station Pro. Nomad’s Base Station Pro model had problems with the iPhone 12 and later versions due to a firmware issue.
Use of Tesla’s new charging platform will be limited to Qi-based devices such as the iPhone and AirPods. This means that Apple Watches cannot charge on this platform. So what do you think about Tesla’s new charging platform? You can share your views with us in the comments section.
