Tesla, one of the most popular electric car companies in the world, has been found to have a special driving mode for its boss Elon Musk. It was understood that the driving mode called “Elon Mode”, which was detected by a hacker who works on Tesla cars and uses the name “greentheonly” on social media, has brought an era to the autonomous driving system called FSD in Tesla cars. Billionaire businessman Elon Musk is thought to be actively using this system.
Greentheonly, who has been working on Tesla’s software since 2017, is known for leaking FSD features that Tesla is working on but not yet available to users. The Elon Mode feature is one of them. Although it is unknown whether Tesla will one day offer the features in this special mode to other customers, the hacker says that the hidden features are not bad at all. So what’s in the Elon Mode feature?
Elon Mode provides fully autonomous driving!
greentheonly did not fail to test FSD’s hidden Elon Mode feature. The hacker, who prefers to use a Tesla Model X, says that when Elon Mode is activated, the driver becomes completely independent. FSD does not offer full autonomy under normal conditions. Cars require the driver to constantly follow the road. The system switches itself off if the steering wheel is released or if it is detected by the cameras in the cabin that the driver is not focused on the road. Here Elon Mode eliminates this situation. In other words, this mode increases the level of autonomous driving, although it reduces safety.
That’s not the only important feature in Elon Mode. Hacker also says that the vehicle’s driving speed on highways has decreased. It seems that Elon Musk does not like high speeds very much. Maybe the business person preferred something like this because he was not interested in the vehicle in any way while traveling with Tesla. There is no way to know. We also checked the Twitter account of the business person, but we could not see that he made any statement on the subject.
Here is the video showing the features of FSD with Elon Mode enabled:
