Apple has released the tenth beta version of macOS 12 Monterey operating system to developers a week after the ninth beta. With the latest release, the company said that Monterey has become increasingly stable and the problems previously reported by users have been resolved.
If you’re already using a developer account, you can download the latest beta from the Apple Developer Center. Then, after the appropriate profile has been downloaded to your device, you can easily complete the installation process from the Software Update section in System Preferences.
macOS 12 Moneterey brings new features
Apple managed to win the admiration of users with the new features it added to the macOS 12 operating system. The company will now allow a single mouse, trackpad and keyboard to be used across multiple Mac and iPad devices. In addition, it will be possible to transfer data directly by AirPlay over iOS, iPadOS and macOS devices.
Aiming to increase communication between all Apple products, the company has also improved existing features. Many features have been reworked, such as SharePlay for iMessage, redesigned tabs for Safari, live text support for photos, grid views, and spatial audio for FaceTime.
What devices will macOS 12 Monterey arrive on?
Many Apple devices, from the iMac to the Mac Mini, will be able to take advantage of macOS 12 Monterey. The following devices will receive the update:
- iMac 2015 and higher
- iMac Pro 2017 and later models
- Macbok Air 2015 and higher models
- MacBook Pro 2015 and higher models
- Mac Pro 2013 and later models
- Mac Mini 2014 and above
- MacBook 2016 and higher models
Warning from Apple!
Apple said that beta programs are still in the testing phase of the software and you may encounter many problems. In fact, the purpose of beta versions is to detect bugs and make the stable version as smooth as possible. For this reason, if possible, it would be more reasonable to install beta versions on a second device that you do not use or that has been backed up.
