At the head of the Android ecosystem, Google can surprise users with the highly anticipated Tensor G3 chipset. As you know, the technology giant, which is present in the market with Pixel models, will announce the Pixel 8 series, which is supported by the new processor towards the end of this year. In this context, the first information about the processor that will accompany Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro was shared.

Tensor G3 will use ARM’s new GPU design

According to the shared report, Tensor G3, which will be based on Samsung’s 4nm (4LPP) process node, one Cortex-X3 running at 3GHz, four Cortex-A715 running at 2.45GHz and four Arm Cortex-A510s running at 2.15GHz (4+4 +1) it will get power from its cores. At this point, we can say that Tensor G3, with the number of cores reaching 9 (4+4+1), is a first for Google.

One notable feature of the Tensor G3 will be the Immortalis-G715 GPU with hardware accelerated ray tracing capability. Arm’s next-generation graphics unit is powered by ten cores running at 890 MHz. In addition to H.264 and HEVC support, it will be capable of 8K30 FPS video encoding/decoding.

Google’s new chip will bring a number of innovations under the hood. Paired with UFS 4.0 storage, Tensor G3 will thus increase faster application launch, faster installation and data transfer speeds. Also, Google has decided to protect the built-in Exynos 5300 modem used in the Tensor G2. However, the Tensor G3 will use a different version of the Exynos 5300.
