China, which has the largest production volume in the smartphone world, is making new moves to expand its progress in this field. Adding a new one to these, the Far Eastern country has made an interesting move to reduce its dependence on foreign technology.
Chinese government officials will not use iPhones
According to the Wall Street Journal, China thinks foreign technology is leaking data within the country. The government took action for this and banned the use of US-origin smartphones. Thus, Chinese government officials will not keep iPhone devices.
The statement of the ban decision includes the statement “to reduce dependence on foreign technology and prevent possible leakage of sensitive data.” From now on, officials will not use iPhones for work-related tasks and will not bring these devices to the workplace.
In fact, this move could be perceived as retaliation. Because the USA decided to embargo Huawei in recent years. The reason was given as the smartphone manufacturer leaking US information to China. However, this may pose a problem for Apple.
Most of Apple’s production is carried out in China. It is a matter of curiosity how the production of the company will be affected after such a decision. On the other hand, let us point out that Apple has made important moves to exit China in recent years. The company is making significant investments to take its production line from China to Taiwan and India.
