Popular messaging platform Telegram has made TON the official Web3 infrastructure, providing network-specific promotion in its user interface. The company, which announced that it will use the TON network in blockchain systems, also added dynamism to the local token of the project. Ton Coin (TON) topped the winners list, increasing by 11.40 percent in the last 24 hours.
Telegram and TON partnership goes back a long time
Telegram started developing the TON blockchain in 2018. He abandoned the project in August 2020 following a lawsuit filed by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for allegedly selling unregistered securities. The project was embraced by community members who formed the TON Foundation the following year to keep it alive.
The messaging platform has likely sparked curiosity from crypto investors after attempts to launch its own cryptocurrency were scrapped.
