German telecommunications giant Deutsche Telekom has announced its Ethereum-based altcoin project, where it will be one of the 100 validators in its network.

Deutsche Telekom collaborates with this altcoin

Deutsche Telekom, one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies, is expanding into the Polygon (MATIC) network, the Ethereum Layer-2 scaling platform. The telecommunications giant will become one of the 100 validators of Polygon’s PoS network as part of the collaboration. This also means that the company will support the security and decentralization of the Polygon network.

Meanwhile, it should be noted that Deutsche Telekom is one of the leading telecommunications companies adopting the Ethereum network. The company will now provide staking and verification services for both Polygon and Supernet solutions through its subsidiary Deutsche Telekom MMS.

Dirk Röder, Head of Deutsche Telekom Blockchain Solutions Center, said:

The Polygon ecosystem is developer friendly and resource efficient. It is based on the highest security standards of the Ethereum ecosystem… Collaboration with Polygon is an important step for Deutsche Telekom MMS to fully exploit the potential of Blockchain technology and enable applications suitable for mass distribution. Deutsche Telekom MMS also supports Polygon staking, contributing to the security and decentralization of Blockchain.

What does the partnership mean for Polygon?

Developed by Polygon Labs, the Polygon ecosystem offers a growing suite of protocols for developers to gain easy access to key scaling solutions, including zero-knowledge rollups (ZK Rollups), side chains, application-specific chains, and data availability protocols.

As a validator, Deutsche Telekom MMS will help secure Polygon’s side-chain and Supernets chains. Polygon currently hosts tens of thousands of decentralized apps and more than three million daily transactions. It also has $1.02 billion TVL as a DeFi project.

About Polygon Labs

Polygon Labs develops Ethereum scaling solutions for Polygon protocols. The Blockchain team is making it affordable, secure, etc. for Web3. works with other ecosystem developers for features. Polygon Labs initially developed the protocol suite for developers to gain easy access to layer-2 solutions. The current Polygon network hosts some of the leading Web3 projects such as Aave, Uniswap and OpenSea.

By the way, it should be noted that Polygon is not only chosen by telecommunication companies. Starbucks, Disney, Reddit and countless leading brand Web3 efforts had chosen Polygon. As Kriptokoin.com, we have included all the partnerships it has signed since last year in this article.

Finally, in March, Polygon Labs released the zero-knowledge zkEVM beta to the general public. Shortly after that, he made a long-term strategic deal with Google Cloud.
