Apple recently held the WWDC 2023 event with the curiosity of the technology world. Bringing its latest software and electronic products to users, the company also introduced its most powerful chip ever, the M2 Ultra. Recently, this chip entered the performance test. Here are the M2 Ultra Geekbench results…

M2 Ultra challenges high-end processors!

Containing more than 130 billion transistors, M2 Ultra draws attention with its unified memory architecture supporting up to 192 GB of memory capacity, being more performance and powerful than previous Apple chips.

When we look at the Geekbench 5 test result of Mac Studio with M2 Ultra, we see that the chip scored 1,956 and 27,945 points in single-core and multi-core modes, respectively. Considering this score, it’s about 18% faster than the M1 Ultra.

Let’s compare the M2 Ultra with its competitors. Intel’s Core i9-13900K scored 2,300 points in single-core and 27,000 points in multi-core during tests. AMD’s Ryzen 9 7950X processor, on the other hand, achieved 2,300 and 25,000 points in single and multi-core mode, respectively.

Processor Single Core Multi Core
Apple M2 Ultra 1956 27,945
Intel Core i9-13900K 2,300 27,000
AMD Ryzen 9 7950X 2,300 25,000

When we compare these results, we can say that the M2 Ultra has almost the same performance as Intel and AMD’s high-end processors. However, since Geekbench is running a system-wide benchmark test, we may not see this performance of the M2 Ultra in all applications. Of course, this also applies to AMD and Intel.

To find out if the M2 Ultra really stands on par against Intel and AMD, one has to look at how well it performs in various applications. For this, applications with high processor usage during rendering such as Adobe Premiere Pro can be preferred.

In addition, other processing-intensive applications such as games, data analysis software, 3D modeling and animation programs can also be used to test the performance of the M2 Ultra.

So what do you guys think about this issue? How did you find the Geekbench result of M2 Ultra? You can share your views with us in the Comments section below.
