A new competitor is added to the PCIe 5.0 SSD solutions, which are gradually becoming widespread today. TeamGroup, one of the big names in the memory industry, announced the T-Force Cardea PCIe Gen5 SSD drive with 13,000 MB/s sequential read and 12,000 MB/s write speeds.
Will be offered to consumers instead of corporate customers
Targeting servers and corporate companies in the coming periods, the new drive will offer similar speeds to the Gen 5 SSDs of Adata, Samsung, Intel and Koxia, and will be on sale with capacities up to 4 TB for consumers. The company also thinks that its new Gen5 SSD can meet all needs in the gaming computing market, video streaming, virtual reality and digital spaces.
TeamGroup, which does not share any technical details except that T-Force Cardea PCIe Gen5 requires a motherboard with NVMe 2.0 slot, plans to start mass production of the new solution in the third quarter of 2022. However, we must remind you that users need Intel Alder Lake or AMD’s upcoming AM5 CPUs to get the most out of the mentioned speeds.
