READING NOW TDP values of NVIDIA RTX 40 series have been announced!

NVIDIA has had a very productive few years with its transition to the RTX series. It has managed to overcome the stock problems in the market, especially with the software that prevents crypto money mining, which it offers on the RTX 30 series graphics cards. Now it is preparing to launch the RTX 40 series.

NVIDIA RTX 40 series will be “power-hungry beasts”

Last year, NVIDIA said it was working on a new architecture called Ada Lovelace, and that this technology could offer 70 percent higher performance than its predecessor. Now, the TDP values of the GeForce RTX 4090 and RTX 4090Ti models that will come with Ada Lovelace have emerged.

According to shared data, the power consumption of GeForce RTX 4090 will be up to 600W. The Ti version of the same card will be able to draw up to 800W. However, it is claimed that the Ti model will use a 4-fan design in terms of cooling.

Analysts who shared the leak news describe the AD102 and AD103 GPUs as “power hungry monsters”. They also claim that it will offer a performance that cannot be compared to the models released in the past years. Because Ada Lovelace architecture lies on the basis of this. It is stated that the chip called

NVDIA Ada Lovelace AD102 GPU will be used in RTX 4090, 4090 Ti and 4080 graphics cards. It is said that the version of the RTX 4080, which will be introduced by the company, which has the lowest power consumption among them, will have a TDP of 450W, and it can approach the RTX 4090 with the Ti model.

Some PSU manufacturers have begun to slowly roll out new Gen 5 power supplies that contain the connectors needed to support the cards, even if the cards are not yet available. Of course, the models we’ve seen so far only have one Gen 5 connector.

Therefore, the cards that NVIDIA will release are expected to have a 16-pin input in one piece. However, users with a relatively old PSU will still be able to use power supplies with 2×8 pin – 1×16 pin adapters.

In fact, these numbers are not surprising at all. Because NVIDIA’s investments were in this direction. 1×16 pin graphics cards in one piece can draw up to 600W from the PSU. If there is an additional requirement, they can get up to 75W from the motherboard connections. But this will not be enough for the RTX 4090Ti. So we can see a 2nd 16pin input. This card, which already has 4 fans on it, will need as much power as it can find.
