People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) tackle millions of challenges faced by thousands of species of animals each year. In fact, an issue that has been brought up many times before has been brought to light by PETA.
Many of us live in cities with skyscrapers shining brightly in the sky. PETA states that billions of birds die every year because of these buildings and argues that architects can easily solve this.
Billions of birds die each year crashing into bright skyscrapers
Jared Goodman from PETA organization stated in an interview he made in the past weeks that the mirrored and shining glass of skyscrapers in metropolitan cities has cost the lives of billions of birds.
Stating that 1 billion birds died in the USA alone last year, Goodman said in his statement that this situation could be prevented with a simple design change, getting angry with companies and architects who do not care about the lives of animals.
“All architects should work by considering the effects of their designs on the living things around us. They can easily add film, ultraviolet patterns and various productive works to their designs.”
Although the number of bird deaths Goodman gave in his statement is only in the USA, we also have a lot of bright skyscrapers in Istanbul and Ankara, and probably millions of birds die every year in our country due to this reason.
