Taiwan says that Chinese SMIC is stolen technology employees
The investigation office of the Taiwan Ministry of Justice has launched an investigation into illegally hiring Taiwan engineers illegally about China’s largest chip manufacturer Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation (SMIC). Authorities claim that SMIC is trying to attract engineers through a screamed company in Taiwan.

SMIC is hunting talent in Taiwan

The investigation office said in a statement that SMIC had established a subsidiary in Taiwan to hire engineers by acting like a company from the Samoa province in the Pacific. This side organization, Taiwan’s most important semicient conductor production center is said to operate in the Hsinchu region. However, the authorities did not share more details about the company’s operations.

Taiwan is in a critical position in global semiconductor production and is home to TSMC, one of the world’s largest chip production companies. In recent years, SMIC has focused on strengthening the domestic production capacity against export restrictions on the US semiconductor sector. It is claimed that China uses various indirect methods to reach the high -tech accumulation and talent pool on the island.

According to the transfer, Taiwan organized a large -scale operation for 11 companies suspected of illegal recruitment activities this month. 180 people participated in the raids 34 different addresses were searched and 90 people were questioned. SMIC is one of the companies under investigation.

China’s Taiwan engineers often established screens of companies to attract and these companies are often hidden as a Taiwan -based or foreign organization. In addition, it is suggested that such companies have cooperated with human resources companies in Taiwan and set up engine hunting or establish secret offices.
