T625 Gökbey helicopter completed the winter test in Sweden with success
T625 Gökbey General Purpose Helicopter, which was completed by TUSAŞ and delivered to the Gendarmerie General Command, successfully completed the challenging winter test. An important step for the certification is behind.

The T625 Gökbey helicopter was sent to the Kiruna area of Sweden to prove his performance in cold air. Low altitude cold air tests were performed. Place tests were carried out where the singular performances of air conditioning systems were evaluated at the aircraft level. In this context, the impulse, rotary wing and hydraulic tests were also completed. Together with these tests, it was proven to be ready to fly even in the extreme cold weather conditions in Gökbey’s polar circle. He successfully completed the cold weather test.

Gokbey’s cold weather test in Sweden was necessary for the civil and military certification process of the helicopter. Gökbey managed to exceed another stage for certification with the success of these tests.

What was done in the cold weather test?

During the test process, challenging maneuvers were performed in Gökbey’s controllability and performance-oriented flight tests that determine the ups and downs and flight limits. Limit speeds and approaches on the runway were applied for cold weather conditions. Within the framework of aviation safety criteria, safe flight capability in fault scenarios has been successfully proven. 176 knots controllability tests were performed.

With TUSAŞ’s experienced ground personnel, pilot, flight test engineer, design and project employees, more than 600 singular test points, 60 sorti and a total of 60 hours of flight were successfully completed with safety priority works of up to minus 30 degrees.
