The data released made the Switch the best-selling Nintendo console of all time, surpassing the Wii’s record of 101.63 million. In addition, with the latest sales data released, Switch became the fastest console to reach 100 million sales. Switch broke this record with 4 years and 11 months; It was stated that the previous record belongs to Playstation 4 with 5 years and 7 months.
However, despite this good news, Switch sales fell 8% on an annual basis. Nintendo lowered its Switch sales estimates from 25.5 million to 24 million due to the chip crisis last November. Now, with a new decision, this estimate has been reduced to 23 million.
