Huawei and Chery have accelerated their SUV efforts to reach more people in the electric car market. Luxeed S9, which is stated to be a Tesla Model Y rival, was seen in camouflage. Here are the details…
Huawei and Chery’s first SUV model, Luxeed S9, was spotted in camouflage
Beneath its stylish exterior, the Luxeed S9 makes a powerful impact with Huawei’s single 292 horsepower electric motor located on the rear axle. This engine promises good performance and efficient driving in line with the distribution of Tesla Model Y.
The 4WD version of the Luxeed S9 has an additional 204 horsepower electric motor on the front axle. The new model offers a total of 496 horsepower. This data is not as much as that of Model Y Performance, but it is very close to it.
One of the yet-to-be-confirmed leaks on the Luxeed S9 is the choice of three battery options. Users can choose between the LFP battery with a capacity of 62 kWh, the M3P (NMC+LFP) battery with a capacity of 82 kWh, or the high-capacity NMC battery offering 100 kWh.
The Luxeed 9 design, with its modern design, has lines close to the S7 currently on the market. The new model features slim LED headlights, a sloping hood line and stylish, retractable door handles.
A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor adds to the tech-savvy appearance of the vehicle. The rear of the Luxeed S9 features sloping rear pillars, a subtle ducktail spoiler and a striking single LED taillight unit. The vehicle’s 2.95-meter wheelbase provides a spacious and comfortable interior.
Luxeed S9 maintains design continuity with its sedan brother, Luxeed S7, in the interior. It has a compact oval-shaped three-spoke steering wheel that displays a sporty aesthetic appearance. In the center console, there is a moving touch screen, LCD instrument panel and a Face ID sensor on the front column.
