After years of using the name Galaxy Gear for its smartwatches, Samsung introduced its first Galaxy Watch model in 2018. These days, when we expect the Galaxy Watch 6 series to be introduced, a surprise update has arrived for the first generation Galaxy Watch.The new software update for Galaxy Watch 1 comes with version number R810XXU1GWE2 and is a small 34MB update. The new update does not bring new features, as its size suggests, it only improves the performance of the sensors. This means that the watch will track activity and health more accurately.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Watch with Tizen OS 4 in mid-2018. Tizen OS has been updated to version 5.5. The last major software update to the watch was given in November 2021.
