It has been reported that the character of Jason Sudeikis in Apple TV+’s popular TV series Ted Lasso will be featured in EA Sports’ upcoming game FIFA 23. Ted Lasso will be played by players as a manager alongside AFC Richmond, the series’ fictional football club.

EA (Electronic Arts) announced this news along with a trailer showing everyone’s “favorite mustache manager”. With this news, EA is considering attracting the fans of the series to the game and hopes that it will bring new players to the game.

The Apple TV+ series recently won its second Emmy for Outstanding Comedy, making it an impressive success for a series.

“The character of Ted Lasso has quickly become a cultural phenomenon that brings the passion of football and the power of faith to life for millions of fans around the world,” said David Jackson, vice president of brand for EA Sports FIFA. “We look forward to having the opportunity to play with and against their favorite AFC Richmond characters.”

Players will be able to choose Ted Lasso as their manager in career mode. There will also be options to craft your own managers, choose a real-world licensed manager to control AFC Richmond, or even develop a player and join the AFC Richmond roster in any league. Team “Ted Lasso” will appear as part of the “Rest of the World” league in The Greyhounds, Kickoff, Online Friendlies, and Online Seasons game modes. EA also announced that unlockable items such as Ted Lasso and Coach Beard manager items, AFC Richmond jerseys, badges, flags and more will be in the game. AFC Richmond’s home stadium, Nelson Road, will be featured in Pro Clubs.

FIFA 23 is expected to be available worldwide on September 30 on PlayStation 5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Stadia and Xbox One. Players who purchase the Ultimate Edition will have early access to the game on September 27.
