“Switch to Windows 11” signal
Build 19045.3391 released this week includes the new Windows Backup application. Accessed from the start menu, the program allows backing up folders, apps, settings, WiFi networks and other passwords to the cloud (OneDrive). Interestingly, however, it is not possible to restore from backup. Microsoft may have also brought the application to Windows 10 to make the transition to Windows 11 easier.
End of support for Windows 10
It is surprising that Microsoft brought its new backup app to Windows 10. The company had explicitly informed users that it would support the operating system for another year, after which no new feature updates or major changes would be introduced. The company continues to support Windows 10 with minor changes and fixes so that users do not have problems during the transition to Windows 11. The new Windows backup application is a prime example.
