Copilot+ ecosystem is growing
The Copilot+PC program was announced on May 20, 2024, and since then it was only working on the ARM -based Snapdragon chips of Qualcomm. However, Microsoft eventually brought certain Copilot+ capabilities to AMD and Intel processors. Newly supported systems include AMD’s Strix Point and Kraken -based RYZEN AI 300 series and Intel’s Lunar Lake -based Core Ultra 200V models.
However, Intel’s Arrow Lake series also contains NPU, but they are not strong enough to get a Copilot+PC certificate. In addition, Microsoft’s not to mention AI MAX+ support is a bit interesting, because the Ryzen AI 300 series and Core Ultra 200V have the same XDNA2 processor, although it has not been included in one of these features.
Microsoft’s Copilot+PC features offered by AMD and Intel systems for the time being:
- Live Captions: Real -time subtitle support.
- Paint Co-Creator in Paint: Converting drawings with advanced artificial intelligence.
- Image Creator: The ability to produce visuals from the text.
- Visual reshaping: Replace the photo style with artificial intelligence.
On the other hand, let’s say that the controversial recall software is still not available. Why Microsoft’s feature does not bring back this feature remains unclear. According to the statements made by Intel and AMD, already sold laptop models are expected to receive Copilot+ certificate. However, no information was shared about how quickly this process would progress.
