Offering good alternatives to the MacBook on the Windows side with
XPS models, Dell continues to expand the XPS family. Introducing the XPS 13 Plus in the past months, Dell is now preparing to introduce an XPS rival to the Surface Pro.
XPS 2-in-1 will rival Surface Pro
Evan Blass, known for his close sources in the technology world, shared the first images of Dell’s 2-in-1 XPS device. Blass stated that the device was developed with the codename XPS 9315t and will compete with the Surface Pro. Although the device offers a form factor similar to the Surface Pro, the device does not have a kickstand like the Surface Pro. Instead, the device can be converted into a laptop form by using the keyboard cover to which it is connected.
XPS 9315t has a 13-inch display and has two USB-C and a 3.5mm headphone jack. At least one of the USB-C inputs is expected to offer Thunderbolt 4 support. There is also a SIM port on the device, but it is not known for now whether it has 5G support. Other features of the device are expressed as dual speakers, pogo pins, camera and power key, which is expected to host a fingerprint sensor. The keyboard cover of the device also offers a similar structure to the Surface Pro, but it seems to have a wider trackpad. The release date of the device is unknown, but Blass stated that the device has been developed since last year and will be introduced soon.
