With the new high-speed wireless networking standard to be announced in a few weeks, wireless communication speeds seem to increase once again. While even Wi-Fi 6, the fastest wireless communication technology at the moment, does not have much use, rumors have begun to be heard that chip maker MediaTek will showcase its Wi-Fi 7 technology at the CES technology fair in Las Vegas.
The Taiwanese manufacturer states that it will be the first company to use this standard in its products and thinks that early transition will facilitate the spread of technology. But while the new standard may seem dazzling, it will take some time before phones, consumer products and routers that comply with this standard are released. The Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), which manages the regulations in this area, stated that it thinks that Wi-Fi 7 devices will be released in 2025.
