Scientists and researchers at North Carolina and Harvard Universities are investigating a topic that makes sense when you dwell on it. The subject of the research is this: If there were deterrent pictures on a sugary drink, just like on cigarette boxes, would you still buy it? What’s more, would you buy it for your child?
Within this study, the researchers asked parents these questions and, based on their results, determined that it would make sense to implement it. Let’s take a look at what those results were.
‘Picture warnings cut parents’ sugary drink intake for their kids’
As a result of the study, picture warnings on cans of sugary drinks deter parents from buying sugary drinks for their children, the researchers said. “Warnings on sugary drinks could be a promising policy to reduce sugary drink intake in the United States,” the scientists say.
However, the pictures given for suggestion and which you can see above, besides being a deterrent, they have an extra scary image. It is said that these pictures can only be evaluated if they act as a deterrent.
