Production expands to India
Reportedly, Micron’s new manufacturing facility will be located on 300,000 square meters of land between Ahmedabad and Sanand districts of India. However, an unnamed government source reported that the new facility will be responsible for assembly, testing, marking and packaging, as well as the production of data storage devices. According to the report, Micron plans to make an official announcement in a few weeks.
Detailed details of the new investment have not yet been disclosed. However, we can say that the new facility will join Micron’s 11 different facilities that are currently in operation or under development in countries such as Japan, Malaysia, Taiwan, Singapore and China. For those who don’t know, Micron is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of DRAM, solid state drives and flash memory. The new investment is expected to accelerate semiconductor competition.
