Saudi Arabia has announced plans to build a 170-kilometer-long mirrored skyscraper that will house nine million people. The plans were announced by Saudi Arabian prince Mohammed bin Salman. The goal is to build a high-tech smart city in the Tabuk region in western Saudi Arabia, close to the Suez Canal.

The megastructure, which will be called “The Line”, will be unique in both shape and size. Although it is only 200 meters wide and 500 meters high, it will stretch 170 kilometers across the desert. That is, it will look like a “tilted skyscraper.”

Theoretically, the millions of people who will live inside this building will be able to reach all the facilities inside the building within five minutes. They will do this using the fast track system that will be installed inside the building. Everything that a society needs, schools, houses, business centers, parks will be located in the building.

The exterior of the building, which will use completely green, renewable energy, will be covered with mirrors. There will be no motor vehicles or fossil fuel burning vehicles inside.

No information was given about whether the project will be real or when construction will begin. However, it still seems to take its place in history as one of Saudi Arabia’s bold plans.
