Earlier this month, Telegram founder Pavel Durov said of the Stories feature: “More than half of all new feature requests we receive are for Stories. Initially, we were against it because Stories were already everywhere. However, Telegram wouldn’t be Telegram if we didn’t listen to our users and innovate on existing formats.” The founder of the messaging platform believes that the rollout of Stories will allow channels to increase their audience and reach.
Only Premium subscribers will be able to create stories
For privacy, users can decide who can view Stories. Before publishing, it can be specified whether users are allowed to save a story and take a screenshot. What’s unusual compared to a similar feature in other apps is that Telegram users have the option to change the list of who can see a story even after it’s posted.
