While “bringing back to life” the dead famous names with artificial intelligence continues to be a matter of ethical debate, another project has been implemented recently, which has inflamed this debate. World-famous podcaster Joe Rogan interviewed Steve Jobs. But in fact, even Joe Rogan wasn’t real.
The interview in question was conducted by Podcast.ai, which focuses on producing podcasts with artificial intelligence. Steve Jobs was chosen as the first guest within the scope of the project because of his “influence on the world of technology and his continuing to inspire people long after his death”.
Artificial intelligence was even telling that Steve Jobs used ‘LSD’:
Steve Jobs’ voice in the podcast was presented by play.ht, which is stated to have a library of “907 ultra-realistic sounds”. All the conversations between Joe Rogan and Steve Jobs in the 20-minute podcast were created by artificial intelligence.
Joe Rogan – The Steve Jobs podcast, like nearly every Joe Rogan conversation, has been linked in some way to drug use. Rogan turned to the LSD substance. Speaking on behalf of Jobs, the AI talked about the first time he used LSD, then said that the experience ‘faded’ and eventually stopped using LSD. Of course, none of this was true.
The factor that fueled the ethics debate was the natural lack of consent of Steve Jobs in the interview in question. Jobs, who lost his life, was used by recording and analyzing his speeches until today, and it was shown as if he said things that did not exist through artificial intelligence.
