Popular gaming service Steam has decided to change its mobile app. The Steam application, which will switch to a much more stylish and useful design, gives you the opportunity to test this design with the beta program. Here’s what you need to do to test the new Steam.
What has changed in the Steam mobile app?
Both the Android and iOS app of Steam haven’t received any design changes in years. Although security updates and bug fixes have been released from time to time, the design has reached the end of its life for phones with larger screens.
The new Steam app is similar to the interface on Valve’s handheld Steam Deck. Although an operating called SteamOS is used in Steam Deck, it also includes a design that appeals to phones with its screen size. The new Steam also gains QR code login, more advanced notifications and library.
Although the new app is much more fluid, let’s not ignore a few features that stand out. First, the notification system has been completely changed. Now you can easily see what’s going on in the friend list.
Secondly, the library view has gained a much more detailed interface. It shows the games you own and also helps you discover builds you might want to try.
