New photos and videos of PlayStation Project Q, the handheld console announced by Sony within the scope of PlayStation Showcase 2023, have been leaked. The device, which will provide remote gaming experience by connecting to PlayStation 5, includes a DualSense style controller.
PlayStation Project Q coming later this year
Project Q, developed by Sony in-house with the code name “Q Lite”, has a design reminiscent of PlayStation 5 DualSense. There is an 8-inch touchscreen LCD in the middle of the device. In addition, the controller includes buttons with haptic feedback, a speaker and a headphone jack.
Sony first showed the handheld console at PlayStation Showcase 2023. Project Q will make it possible to play PS5 games portable. It will provide 1080p 60 FPS remote gaming experience from PlayStation 5.
According to new information, Project Q will have a battery life of 3-4 hours. Sony said it will debut towards the end of the year, although it hasn’t given a date yet. The first claims are that it will take its place in the market in November.
The price of the device was leaked in Microsoft’s lawsuit during the Activision-Blizzard acquisition. Accordingly, Project Q is said to be priced under $300, but Sony has yet to confirm pricing.
It should be noted that the handheld console will not be a standalone device like the Steam Deck or Nintendo Switch. You will be able to mirror your games on PlayStation 5 to this console and play from anywhere.
