X (formerly Twitter) CEO Linda Yaccarino sent an informational note to X employees on Thursday, following Elon Musk’s recent interview, which he described to his employees as “candid” and “deep.”

At the DealBook Summit on Wednesday, Musk accused advertisers of trying to “blackmail” him by pulling ads from the platform after he said he participated in a social media post accusing Jewish communities of promoting hatred against whites. Musk’s initial comments were condemned by the White House, and Musk was accused of promoting “antisemitic and racist hatred.”

Musk, owner and CTO of X, said the following during the interview; “If someone is going to try to blackmail me with advertising? Blackmail me with money? Go fuck yourself. Is that clear enough?” After saying these, Musk said “Hi Bob” to Disney CEO Bob Iger, who was in the audience.

In the memo sent Thursday, Yaccarino told employees that Musk “shares a unique perspective and vision for the future.” “If you haven’t watched, please take the time and realize the magnitude and importance of what we are all a part of.” Because that’s exactly what I want to focus on with you today.” Yaccarino also said in his post on X: “X enables an independence of information that is uncomfortable for some people.
