High taxes, exchange rate, and economic problems have made it very difficult to buy a car in our country. While most citizens could no longer buy either new or used cars, they were constantly calling for discounts. The 2023 MTV rates were announced the other day, and the hike rate was determined as 61.5%. In addition, the SCT tax regulation has been made recently. Although there was a decrease in the prices of some cars with this arrangement, there was not a great change in prices with the price hikes made by the brands.

‘Will SCT reduction be made?’ While the question continues to be on everyone’s minds, a statement came today that will upset people’s morale. While answering journalists’ questions, Treasury and Finance Minister Nurettin Nebati also touched upon the subject of SCT and stated that no reduction will be made.

“There will be no SCT reduction in a period when vehicles are difficult”

Speaking during a meeting, Nabati made statements on many curious subjects. One of these was the SCT reduction, which is closely related to automobile buyers. The Minister of Treasury and Finance underlined that tax cuts are not on their agenda for now.

Adding that there is no study of the ministry on this issue, Nebati said, “SCT reduction is not in question at the moment. In a period when vehicles are difficult, there will be no SCT reduction,” he added to his statements.

The Minister stated that there will be no reduction in SCT in the past months. Instead, a base arrangement was made.
