A data leak occurred on the electric scooter rental platform Martı. The leak was announced with the Data Breach Notice published by the Personal Data Protection Authority (KVKK) on March 4. Martı made a statement on the subject.
Martı made the following statements
“Our company received a threatening e-mail on 27/02/2022 with the claim that personal data was accessed by an unidentified person or persons, and the e-mail address of the claim was given. -mail Reported to the Personal Data Protection Authority. All necessary technical research has been initiated by our company and precautions have been taken.
At this point, we would like to emphasize that our company does not store credit card data that can be matched with users and it is not possible to access any financial information in this context. In addition, since our users log in to our application with a one-time password, it is not possible to access any user accounts by third parties.”
