Rockstar recently announced that it will bring the original Red Dead Redemption series to Nintendo Switch and modern PlayStation systems. The news received mixed reactions from the gaming world, although it will allow millions of new players to experience the build. The main reason for this was that the company released a Switch and PS version instead of a remastered version of the game adapted to the present day.

In addition, the price of the game in the $ 50 band was another issue that attracted reaction. Now an explanation about the price has come from the CEO of Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two.

CEO says price is the right decision

Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, described the backlash price as “commercially correct” in a statement to IGN. The manager, who did not find the reaction correct, insisted that there was no problem with the price and said: “We believe this is the right price commercially.”

In addition, he stated that he thinks the zombie-themed DLC called Undead Nightmare coming to Switch and PS is great for consumers. Zelnick did not make a statement about not releasing the game for PC, another controversial move.

The Switch and PS version of the 13-year-old Red Dead Redemption is still being criticized for its price, lack of modern technologies and lack of multiplayer mode. However, the statements of Take-Two CEO reveal that this situation will not change.

Red Dead Redemption will be released for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 on August 17, 2023.
