Twitter employees were told that the company’s office buildings would be closed immediately, but temporarily. Employees were told that the offices would reopen on Monday, November 21. The announcement came at a time of resignation after the company’s new owner, Musk, put pressure on his employees to work busy, long hours. Employees began tweeting using the hashtag #LoveWhereYouWorked.

Elon Musk also warned employees: “Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing company confidential information on social media, with the press or elsewhere.”

Either accept the tough terms or get your compensation

Musk told Twitter employees this week that they have to work long hours and be extremely tough or they will be fired from the company. It was said that if the employees wanted to stay they had to accept it, otherwise they would be given three months’ severance pay.

The number of employees is rapidly decreasing, the best will remain

The former Twitter employee, who requested anonymity, told the BBC there would be less than 2,000 people left when things calmed down, adding that everyone on his team had been fired.

Before Musk took control of Twitter, the company had about 7500 employees. The company also reportedly employs thousands of contract workers, most of whom appear to have been laid off. There are also people who are ready to work knowing the difficult conditions but have decided to resign.

Will Twitter shut down?

In response to a question that Twitter was on the verge of shutting down after the message was sent that Twitter’s offices were shut down, Musk tweeted: “The best people stay, I’m not too concerned on that face.” However, in another post, he shared a tombstone photo with the skull and crossbones emoji and the Twitter logo on it.
