SpaceX has announced its premium subscription tariff for its Starlink satellite internet service. Starlink Premium package, which includes a larger and more powerful antenna, promises users a download speed of between 150 and 500 Mbps with a latency of 20-40 ms.
Let’s remind you that Starlink’s normal subscription package offers 50 to 250 Mbps download speeds with 20-40 ms delays. The premium version of the service doubles the 10 to 20 Mbps upload speed achieved in a regular subscription to 20 to 40 Mbps.
Subscription fee is 5 times more expensive
Of course, this speed increase will come at a cost. For Starlink’s basic subscription, users are charged $499 for equipment and $99 per month. For Starlink Premium, an antenna fee of $ 2,500 and a monthly subscription fee of $ 500 will be required.
Equipment deliveries for Starlink’s new internet tariff will start in the second quarter of this year. The company requires a $500 deposit from customers who want to subscribe. Let’s add that Starlink Premium users are promised more stable connection and 24/7 priority technical support in bad weather conditions.
