Starlink, Elon Musk’s satellite internet project, continues to expand its usage network. The company, which has received approval from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for the use of the service in moving vehicles, has announced the Starlink Maritime package for marine vehicles such as boats, ships and even yachts.
It will offer speeds of up to 350 Mbps
In his previous statements, Musk said that Starlink can be used in moving vehicles such as cruise ships and airplanes, but it does not operate at a reliable and efficient speed. With the new developments, Starlink will provide high-speed, low-latency internet at speeds up to 350 Mbps to sea vehicles.
When it comes to coverage, SpaceX says Starlink Maritime lets you connect from the world’s most remote waters. However, the main critical point here is the price of the package. Maritime, which is offered to users with a monthly pricing of $ 5 thousand, also comes with a hardware fee of $ 10 thousand to use the service.
