A sequel is not yet considered for Stardew Valley, which was released in 2017 and exploded by reaching 15 million sales by the end of 2020. On the other hand, Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone, the producer of the game, which is also called a ‘farming simulation’, but attracts attention with its structure that draws attention to a start, has confirmed that he is currently working on two different games.
Haunted Chocalatier and another game coming
Stardew Valley developer Eric ‘ConcernedApe’ Barone confirmed in an interview this week that he’s working on a second project alongside Haunted Chocalatier.
In an interview with Game Informer (PCGamesN), Stardew Valley producer Eric announced that they are developing a co-production with Haunted Chocolatier, as well as an unnamed game producer. According to Eric, he explained that this game offers a completely single-player experience and will be released before the other project.
Stating that they do not aim for the new game to achieve a great sales success, unlike the surprise success of Stardew Valley, Barone said that he is considering publishing the game under a different publisher name and hiding his name once again, so that the players do not expect a new Stardew Valley. However, after a while, Barone, who was convinced that this idea would be an insincere behavior to attract attention, announced that he would state that he was the producer of the new game.
Haunted Chocolatier
Announced in 2021, Haunted Chocolatier, like the first game of its producer, will be played from an above point of view and set in an elegant town where ghosts and chocolates roam. Just like in Stardew Valley, the game will focus on the relationships with the NPC and will be in front of us with a design also called pixel-art.
