X (formerly Twitter) started to lose its users with its new updates. Taking advantage of this opportunity, Threads has recently entered our lives. However, his fame was short lived. Threads users will now be able to see other people’s liked posts when they update the app. This feature rolled out to everyone last weekend. Also, Meta now allows uploading higher quality photos and videos on Threads. You can find this option for uploading higher resolution images under the Media Quality tab in the user’s account section.
In the statement made by Meta, it was said:
“We continue to add new functionality to Threads, such as the ability to sort the people you follow by date you follow, and a way to see all the content you like in one place.”
Threads reported that 100 million users signed up in the first five days. But since launch, it has lost 80 percent of its users. A report from Similarweb stated that as of August 1, the number of daily active users had dropped from 49 million to just 9.6 million users.
Finally, Mark Zuckerberg acknowledged the loss at an internal meeting on July 28. Threads updates come at a time when users are losing interest in the app. Thus, it plans to turn the disappointments of X users into an opportunity and take the lead in the race.
Zuckerberg pointed to new features coming to the app in a Threads post on Saturday. Among them is the web version of the application. In this way, Threads aims to regain its lost users. As a result, we will see if these updates will be hope for Threads in the coming days.
