SSD sales have been declining for several quarters. Although SSD supply increased after the shortage in control circuits in 2021, there were significant decreases in manufacturers’ revenues as a result of the decrease in consumer interest. However, with stock corrections and price increases, SSD controller manufacturers such as Phison aim to increase their revenues.
Phison stated in its report that there will be a price increase in the storage industry. Stating that there has been a recovery in falling SSD shipments, the company reported a 40% increase in shipments.
Western Digital also informed its customers that there will be increases of up to 55% in NAND prices in the future. Samsung and SK Hynix have already increased the prices of their storage products. These increases are expected to have an impact on the consumer market soon.
