Spotify vs white noise
Spotify announced that as of October 1, podcasters producing white noise will be removed from the Ambassador Ads program. The Ambassador Ads program allows publishers to read and monetize advertisements featuring the company’s products among their publications.
Thanks to the great interest, white noise broadcasters were able to reach significant revenues of 18 thousand dollars per month. This meant that on an annual basis, Spotify only handed out $38 million to white noise publishers.
Recently, Spotify was expected to take action against white noise broadcasts. From now on, white noise publishers will only be able to monetize other revenue models such as paid subscriptions and automated ads. On the other hand, the requirement to participate in the Ambassador Ads program has been updated to 1000 listeners in the last 60 days.
